This morning, many of us find ourselves grappling with a wide range of emotions. The recent election outcome stirs deep concerns, especially as we hold respect and equality at the core of our mission here at LGBT+ VC.

I want to start by affirming that our purpose is steadfast. We champion equal access, fairness, and support those overlooked for opportunities. Our vision doesn’t waver with political shifts; in fact, moments like these only underscore the necessity of our work. Our commitment to investing in LGBTQ leadership and innovation is personal for many of us and fundamental to our mission.

There’s no denying that these election results can feel disheartening. Over the past months, I’ve listened to stories from LGBTQ elders, sharing concerns about how these outcomes may impact the hard-won rights of our community. Many have spent a lifetime advocating for the freedoms we enjoy today, and for some, this moment feels all too familiar.

For others, there’s a real fear about what lies ahead—about bodily autonomy, access to gender-affirming healthcare, marriage equality, the freedom to operate businesses safely and authentically, and opportunities to build a family.

But remember: We’ve endured and thrived despite the challenges, and we’ll continue to do so. Courage is woven into the fabric of our community. Now, more than ever, we need to foster community, build economic empowerment, and support one another. We have the power to drive real change by supporting businesses that advance progress and ensure a future that reflects the freedoms we cherish.
